“Did King send you?” More hesitation.

“We want to –” I cut him off. “No. King made it clear what he wants, and it’s not making sure I’m okay. Tell him I don’t need you guys checking on me. And tell him to take his men off watch duty, too. The police have a lead they’re following up, and they think it was a random robbery gone wrong. Whoever did it isn’t coming back, so we’re safe.”

Okay, so I know that not everyone has read the first part of this duet yet (Y’all have some WILLPOWER!), so I’m going to try to be the least spoiler-y that I can be. I don’t want to ruin the story, but I definitely want to share how I felt.

Now, a lot of people will read this story and think that King is a total … I’ll go with jerk as a mild option. If I’m being 100% honest, he totally is. I feel like there are a lot of reasons for it, not so much excuses, but events that completely and irrevocably changed the course and the outer actions of King. Is he a criminal? Yes. Is he oftentimes blunt to the point of cruel? Yes. Has he let people down? Yes. Has he made mistakes that cost a life? Yes. And while these things can’t be overlooked when deciding whether to let King into your life, it’s also good to look deeper.

This installment of the duet gives us a deeper look into King as a human, rather than a member of the Sydney Storm MC. While this doesn’t excuse his actions, it does let us see that he does have a true heart within all of the controversial actions we see.

His woman … wow. She seems pretty stable versus King’s instability. She’s strong, independent, and her honesty is astounding. I love, LOVE that she stands up to King, even with all the feelings she has swirling inside her. “Look, you made your choice the other day, and you didn’t choose me. So please tell Mace and his friend to go home. Every time I see them, it makes me think of you, and I have other things I need to concentrate on at the moment.” She paused before adding a little less harshly, “Please.” Now, I didn’t always agree with her, but I do 100% agree with her for pushing him away after he did the same. Often, to me, the heroines in a these stories give in too easily. No, girl! Stand up for yourself and let that man know he HURT you!

There’s a lot I can’t tell you, honestly. I don’t want to ruin things for the first half of the duet (hence, not mentioning the character’s name), and I don’t want to give away what happens in this half. What I can tell you is that I highlighted what seemed like half of the book, because there were so many moments I wanted to remember. They weren’t moments really important to the story, but let me remember who these characters are.

This book (the whole duet, really), is pretty dark & gritty. You can’t really read through a lens or right & wrong or black & white — there’s just too much grey area here. But, if you can handle that and you take the time to truly get to know the characters, y’all will love King as much as I did.

King Reign Sydney Storm MC Book 6 edition by Nina Levine Romance eBooks Reviews

I had to wait a whole week in between reading King’s books. I about lost my mind over it. Book 1 had been so intense. Then it ended in a cliffhanger. I was ready for a major freakout situation. Then I started getting nervous about reading book 2. I had all these high expectations and I didn’t want to get disappointed (I take my books very seriously). And praise the lord and little baby Jesus, it lived up to them!!! I cannot put into words how much I love this character. I want him to be real and mine. No sharing with the world. I loved his badassness, his tenderness towards the ones he loved, his downright crazines. I loved that he finally found his one person in this world, a woman who gets his crazy and she’s down with it. I loved it all. This was an awesome wrap up on this series.
This book has a lot of emotional up's and downs and that makes it very hard to put the book down!! The book has pain, heartbreak and triumph written on every page. It is an awesome story of raw emotion, love (King’s way or no way) and hard fought battles, it’s emotional and suspenseful. I totally loved this book about King, he is hot, rough, controlling, sexual, possessive and can be very violent. King is back with a plan of vengeance. King is looking to take care of those who have hurt his family. King and Lily have been through a lot. King and Lily are both strong, protective and fierce as they both have that don't mess with me attitude and they belong together. Lily try's to get King to open up and let her in but, King doesn't want to discuss his past/up bringing until one day she asked about the scar on his chin and he told her how he got it and then he told her that he didn't ever want to talk about his real parents and told Lily not to ever bring his real parents up again. Lily does on occasion get to see a soft side of King. This book has some rough sex scenes in it and it was hot!! If you want to know more you need to read "King's Reign" Nina Levine you did an awesome job with King's Reign!! I totally Loved it. I recommend this book but first you need to read King's Wrath which is the start of King's story!!
